Safety & Security Tips
Practical advice to keep your Ratibi card and your hard-earned money safe from fraud, theft, and scams.
Remember: FAB will never ask for your PIN, OTP, or full card number via phone, SMS, or email. If someone does — it is a scam. Call FAB directly: 600 52 5500
01. Never Share Your PIN
Your 4-digit PIN is strictly confidential. Do not share it with anyone — including friends, family, or people claiming to be bank staff. First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) will NEVER ask for your PIN over the phone, SMS, or in person.
02. Shield the Keypad at ATMs
When entering your PIN at an ATM or point-of-sale terminal, always use your other hand or body to cover the keypad. This prevents hidden cameras or people standing nearby from seeing your code.
03. Beware of Scams (SMS & Phone)
Ignore unexpected calls or SMS messages claiming your card is blocked and asking you to press a number or share your details. FAB communicates only through its official app, website, or verified channels. When in doubt, hang up and call 600 52 5500 directly.
04. Report a Lost or Stolen Card Immediately
If your Ratibi card is lost, stolen, or you suspect it has been used without your permission, call the FAB Customer Care Center at 600 52 5500 immediately to block the card. Acting fast prevents unauthorized withdrawals of your salary.
05. Enable SMS Balance Alerts
Ensure your current and active mobile number is registered with FAB. With SMS alerts enabled, you receive an instant notification every time your salary is credited or money is withdrawn — helping you spot unauthorized activity immediately.
06. Keep Your Card in a Safe Place
Store your Ratibi card in a secure location such as your wallet or a locked drawer. Never write your PIN on the card itself or on a piece of paper kept inside your wallet. If you must write it down, store it separately and securely.
07. Use Only the Official FAB App
Only download the FAB Mobile app from the official Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Avoid apps from unknown sources. Log out of the app when you are done, especially if you are using a shared or public device.
08. Avoid Public Wi-Fi for Banking
Never check your balance or log in to online banking using public Wi-Fi networks — in cafes, hotels, or malls. These networks may be insecure. Use your mobile data instead, which is much safer for financial transactions.
09. Check Your Balance Regularly
Get into the habit of checking your Ratibi card balance regularly — especially just after your salary payment date. This helps you quickly notice if the expected amount was not deposited, or if any unauthorized transaction occurred.
10. Know Your Employer's Salary Day
Under the UAE Wages Protection System (WPS), your employer is legally required to pay your salary on time. Know your expected payday, and if your salary has not arrived within 2–3 days after the due date, speak to your HR department first, then contact the Ministry of Human Resources.
In an Emergency
If you believe your card has been compromised, lost, or stolen — act immediately.
